Patient TransportationTransports patients to and from various units as directed, safely and comfortably. Picks up and delivers materials and/or equipment as needed.Job ResponsibilityTransports patients in wheelchairs or on stretchers to and from various units as directed.Responds to page promptly.Uses proper body mechanics during transfer and transport.Transports patients using wheelchairs or stretchers, as directed.Notifies staff upon arrival of patients.Reports any changes of patient's condition during transport to charge nurse.Ensures proper height is kept on I.V set-up when transporting patient.Promotes and maintains cleanliness and effective functioning of transport equipment.Reports defective wheelchairs and stretchers to Supervisor.Cleans transportation equipment.Picks up and delivers materials as directed within the Hospital promptly and accurately.Performs related duties as required.ADA Essential FunctionsJob QualificationHigh School Diploma or equivalent, required.Minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical setting, preferred.Good communication skills-fluent in English.Physical demand are constant walking, standing, stooping, bending, turning, lifting; Frequent stretching, pulling, pushing; Occasional sitting.*Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
